Summer Research and Internships Abroad
Putting academic and career interests into practice.
At NYU Abu Dhabi, students can participate in full-time funded internships and undergraduate research in the UAE and abroad. This experiential learning allows students to work and learn alongside leading organizations, professionals, and researchers in communities around the world.
Through hands-on experience, students deepen their academic interests, develop professional skills and networks, and learn how to collaborate effectively across cultures and contexts — experiences that can open new possibilities for careers and graduate study.
Typically, 500+ students participate in summer research and internships across 60 countries.
Whether it's working with Professor of Economics Yaw Nyarko and his team at the Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) in a town in Ghana surveying local farmers, or traveling to the Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy to do research on dark matter, NYUAD students extend their learning beyond the classroom during the summer.
By working directly with organizations and professionals, students develop critical skills and cross-cultural understanding, enhancing both their personal and academic growth with professional experience.
Summer Research
Students conduct research both at NYUAD and other universities and centers around the world under the supervision of faculty. NYUAD provides competitive grants covering travel, room and board for up to eight weeks to support these experiences.
Summer Internships
Through summer internships, students gain real-world experience while immersing themselves in diverse cultural settings. These internships provide hands-on learning alongside professionals in fields, such as business, non-profit organizations, arts, and technology.
