One of my favorite memories from NYU Abu Dhabi was when my sister came to visit me.
I showed her everything that has quietly become part of my routine: my dorm, the academic buildings, the dining hall, even the shortcuts I take across campus. We walked around Mamsha in the evenings and just talked. It felt strange, in a good way, seeing her in the middle of a life I’ve built on my own.
She met my friends, and we all went out together. Watching her get along so easily with the people I spend most of my time with meant more than I expected. She tried the same food I eat almost every day and sat in the same spaces where I usually study or unwind. Seeing her step into my normal made me realize how natural this place has become for me.
For those four days, my life here and my life back home didn’t feel separate. Everything felt connected and NYUAD felt even more like home.
