Charlie Fong
I sometimes tell people that I major in climbing and minor in Arab Crossroads (my actual major) because the sport has become such an important part of my life at NYUAD.
I started bouldering seriously in the summer of my freshman year while I was on June Term in Berlin (shoutout to the dorms for being a 10-minute walk away from a climbing gym) and got more into it during my time here.
Working at the NYUAD wall was a cornerstone of my undergraduate experience as I made many like-minded climber friends there and also founded the climbing club in my senior year.
Some of my highlights of being an NYUAD student include outdoor trips to the Stardust Climbing Crag in Ras al Khaimah and placing 7th in Squad Games by GoClimb, a team climbing competition.
These student climber days will definitely be missed!
