I am sitting in the hotel as I write this. It has been exactly one week that the campus has been shifted to a hotel due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. I had planned a lot for this final semester, but shelter-in-place alerts and moving into a hotel with friends was definitely not on the list.
But I believe God is the best of planners and hence amid all this I found myself to be deeply grateful. This unexpected turn of events made me grateful for my friends, for my time at NYUAD and for all the memories that I made along the way.
Just like many others, I too was very excited for our Commencement and the events leading up to it but with the looming uncertainty it’s hard to tell what the future holds. I hope we can all come back together on campus once again, have late-night runs to hotpot with my friends and just hang out on the Highline and in the palms.
