Laura Juo-Hsin Chen, 陳若昕, is a an immersive experience developer, designer, animator, and doodler from Taiwan, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She is an alum and ex- research resident of NYU ITP, currently works at Oda and teaches a class at NYU Abu Dhabi IM program.

Laura is interested in weird human interactions, and how unusual behaviors shift participants’ perspective. Often using open source technology in a lighthearted way, Laura aspires to create catalytic experiences and make them accessible to general public. Her tool usually consists web platform, AR/VR, multi-user environment, and physical objects.

Laura has exhibited work at Abandon Normal Devices Festival in U.K., IDFA DocLab in Amsterdam, MoMA PS1, Museum of the Moving Image, Grand Central Terminal, and Time Squares in New York City, and gave workshops and talks at Guggenheim, Queens Museum, Pioneer Works, Weird Reality conference in CMU, School of Machines, Making & Make-Believe in Berlin, and DocLab in Amsterdam.
