NYU Abu Dhabi is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19104 19801 (267-284-50005011). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. NYU Abu Dhabi is approved by the Commission as an additional location of NYU, and is included within the scope of its accreditation.
NYU Abu Dhabi, located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, is officially licensed by the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates to award degrees/qualifications in higher education, and has been awarded the status of “High Confidence Institution.” All degree programs at NYU Abu Dhabi are also individually accredited by the Ministry’s Commission for Academic Accreditation.

In addition to the above, five engineering majors offered by NYU Abu Dhabi have programmatic accreditation. General Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The Bioengineering program will undergo an ABET accreditation review after the first graduating class for that program. If the ABET accreditation is granted, it is automatically retroactive for the first graduating class.
Since 2020 the BA in Art and Art History at NYUAD is accredited by the US accrediting organization, National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
