Ateeq Rahman Mohammed, joined the Center of Genomics and System Biology, NYUAD in July 2018. He is affiliated with Prof. Kenneth D. Birnbaum's lab. He is actively involved in the establishment of the new lab and performing laboratory experiments on various plants roots projects using the 10x technology platform, for single-cell RNA sequencing studies in Arabidopsis Thaliana, Sorghum Bicolor, Medicago Trancatula, Brachypodium & Setaria Viridis, etc. plant species, under the supervision of Dr. Bruno Gullotin.

Earlier, he worked as a research assistant in Prof. Ruth Palmer labs in Gothenburg & Umea Universities, and In Prof. Peter Naredi group at Umea University, Sweden.

Ateeq earned his Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Umea University, Sweden, and Bachelor of Sciences degree from Osmania University, India.
