Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting Core

BD FACSaria™ III Sorter has four lasers: Ultraviolet 375 nm, Blue 488 nm, Yellow-Green 561 nm, and Red 633 nm. It includes two forward scatter/ side scatter detectors and 12 fluorescence detectors capable of reading the near-full spectrum of emission wavelengths from blue (450 nm) to infrared (780 nm). There are also three nozzle sizes for different sorting needs: 70 µm, 85 µm, and 100 µm. The BD FACSaria™ III has a maximum acquisition rate of 70,000 events per second and can produce a sorting purity of >98% and a yield of >80% at its maximum threshold rate. In addition to its cell sorting capabilities, it also includes sensitivity for multicolor and sorting applications.

The BD FACSCanto™ II system is an easy-to-use benchtop analyzer with proven accuracy and high-quality results. It is equipped with an excitation source with three lasers: Blue (488-nm, air-cooled, 20-mW solid state), Red (640-nm, 40-mW solid state), and Violet (405-nm, 30-mW solid state). These lasers can detect up to eight colors on particle sizes from 0.5 µm to 50 µm and have two channels for forward scatter and side scatter. The BD FACSCanto™ II has a fixed alignment flow cell to minimize startup time and to improve reproducibility. It also has an optical system that maximizes signal detection and increases sensitivity and resolution for each color in a multicolor assay.
