Meet Dr. Enas Qudeimat, our research administration and community outreach lead at the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology, NYU Abu Dhabi. With a solid foundation in plant molecular biology, Enas plays a key role in shaping our research direction, managing funds, and ensuring we meet the highest standards. Her efforts to increase the visibility of our research and foster collaborations have significantly expanded opportunities for funding and innovation.

Beyond her administrative prowess, Dr. Qudeimat is deeply committed to science education and public engagement. She has spearheaded the Fikret Science Café, the first of its kind in the UAE, and actively works to foster partnerships with schools, community groups, and industry to promote genomics careers. Her passion for mentorship shines through her involvement with weSTEM, supporting girls in STEM fields, and her innovative program idea to have an Interdisciplinary Artist-in-Residence program within the center, and creatively bridges art and science, making complex ideas more accessible. She recently has been awarded The NYUAD Fund for Inclusion and Innovation Committee for the academic year 2023-2024 for her project, "Breaking Barriers: Women in Science Podcast Series."

Enas's own academic path is noteworthy. After earning a prestigious DAAD Ph.D. fellowship, she completed her studies in Germany, followed by valuable postdoctoral experiences in Belgium and Saudi Arabia. Her work has made significant contributions to our understanding of how plants respond to abiotic stresses, enhancing the field of genomics using Physcomitrella patens and Arabidopsis thaliana as model organisms.
