Yasmeen El-Ashi, is an Instructor of Mathematics at NYUAD, Science and Mathematics division. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Sharjah (AUS), in 2006, as well as a minor in Applied and Computational Mathematics. Further, she enrolled in the Mechatronics Master’s program in the American University of Sharjah as a graduate assistant, (2007–2010). She published four papers, the most significant one, on ‘Modeling and Analysis of a Wavelet Network Based Optical Sensor for Vibration Monitoring’, published in the Sensors Journal, IEEE (Jan. 6th 2011).

During her Mathematics Master’s program at AUS (2014-2019), she published on ‘Graph of Linear Transformations over R’, in the Springer Proceedings in Mathematics and Statistics (Dec. 2022), under the supervision of her Thesis Advisor, Dr. Ayman Badawi.

El-Ashi hopes to pursue a PhD in Mathematics, specializing more in Topology and Geometry, as well as bridge the gap between the ‘abstract’ and ‘real’ worlds by contributing to substantial research and developmental projects.
