Reinad Abu Rabah

Associate Instructor of Chemistry Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: MA, University of Sharjah

Research Areas: Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel small-molecule therapeutics

Reinad Abu Rabah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry, graduating summa cum laude with the highest honors. Her academic journey reflects a strong foundation in both fundamental and applied chemical sciences, paired with a deep commitment to excellence.

Her research has focused on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel small-molecule therapeutics, particularly kinase inhibitors with potential anticancer and neuroprotective applications. She has contributed to publications including studies on pyridopyridine derivatives targeting FMS kinase for anticancer therapy, and on pyrazole derivatives as potent and selective JNK3 kinase inhibitors. These works integrate organic synthesis, biological testing, and in silico modeling, highlighting her multidisciplinary approach to drug discovery.

In addition to her research achievements, Abu Rabah is deeply passionate about education and pedagogy in chemistry. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes making complex chemical concepts approachable and engaging, fostering both curiosity and confidence in students. She continues to explore innovative methods to improve chemistry education, bridging the gap between rigorous scientific content and accessible learning.
