Moumena Chaqfeh has received her Ph.D. from the College of Information Technology at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). She holds an MSc. in Informatics (Knowledge and Data Management) from the British University in Dubai (BUiD) in association with the University of Edinburgh and a BSc. in Computer Science from the UAEU.
Moumena has joined the ComNets lab - Computer Science program at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) in December 2018. Her research focuses on large-scale networks, including the World Wide Web and Vehicular Networks. Additionally, she is interested in Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICTD). Before joining NYUAD, Moumena worked on several research projects at the Roadway, Transportation, and Traffic Safety Research Center (UAEU).
Moumena is currently working on accelerating web pages for less fortunate users who can only afford low-end phones. Additionally, she is exploring different challenges in mixed traffic environments where conventional vehicles interact with autonomous vehicles that will exploit real roads in the near future.
