Adilla Razali
Research Technician
Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: BSc Biomedical Science; the University of Adelaide
Research Areas: Gene manipulation of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus and Development of Drosophila melanogaster optic lobe.
Adilla Razali is currently working as a research technician in the Center for Genomics and System Biology (CGSB), where she accommodates the ongoing research projects in the lab. She has a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Adelaide.
During her undergraduate, she worked at South Australia Pathology in Adelaide, gaining insight and skills in clinical research. At SA Pathology, she assisted in developing and implementing clinical approaches to diagnose with un-mappable genes (PKD1 and PMS2) through bypassing the pseudogenes to improve genetic testing and clinical diagnostics assays.
Before joining Claude Desplan lab in CGSB NYUAD, Adilla was a research assistant in the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology at UAEU and a research affiliate at CGSB, where she assisted in the rearing, dissection, immunohistochemistry, and injection of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus's embryos using CRISPR-Cas9. She also refined her skills in handling and dissecting Drosophila melanogaster and Rhynchophorus ferrugineus.
She aspires to pursue her graduate studies in Genetics.
