Priyam Narain received her PhD degree in November 2018, from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India, one of the most prestigious institutes in India. Her graduate research focused on understanding the genetic basis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in Indian patients. Her study was the first to establish the genetic basis of ALS in India.

She joined the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in November 2018. Under the mentorship of Dr. Justin Blau and Dr. Dipesh Chaudhury, she is working on the molecular mechanisms underlying rhythmic excitability in the body's master clock, the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (SCN).
