Suma received her Bachelor's in Chemistry and Masters in Biochemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. She worked in National University of Singapore and gathered experience in laboratory management and research. She joined the Chemical and Functional Genomics lab in 2016. Her research interests include the discovery of new anthelmintic compounds and exploring their mechanism of action. She is also involved in the Genetic interactor screens in various Caenorhabditis elegans mutants.
