Internships these days aren’t about fetching coffee, they’re about fetching a future. Most NYU Abu Dhabi students will work at least one internship between freshman and senior year because the best place for university students to gain meaningful career experiences and polish their professional skills is the workplace.
NYUAD helps students find opportunities in their area of interest, whether at a bank, art museum, tech firm, or biology lab, prepare an application, and get ready for interviews. Internships can happen any time of year, anywhere in the world, and there’s a good chance the experience will lead to a job after graduation.
“I did two internships at Google,” says Yana Dmytrivna Chala, a computer science major from Ukraine. “I first got the first internship (in London, UK) after my sophomore year, and returned for a second internship in Stockholm.” Today, she is working full-time at Google in London.
Like Yana, many students in the Class of 2019 pursued multiple internships. Almost half had four or more work experiences; 93 percent of the class had at least one. Notably, 30 percent of 2019 graduates got a job at a company where they were interns.
The Class of 2019 held 900+ internships over four years. Here are some of the companies and organizations they worked for.
