Despite efforts to increase the diversity of the workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), women remain largely underrepresented in these fields. This symposium brings together experts from across the globe who study the impact of diversity on innovation and discovery, who have identified the underlying causes of the STEM gender gap, and who have implemented effective programs to address this.

The FASEB SRC: Fundamental Biology and Pathophysiology of the Liver.
This meeting is recognized as the world's premier small conference covering all aspects of basic research involving the liver. The goals of the conference are to i) present and integrate research advances in disparate areas of liver biology in order to foster new national and international collaborative projects, ii) encourage junior and early stage investigators, women and minority scientists to pursue liver research, and iii) accelerate translation of fundamental advances into novel clinical treatments through the interactions of basic and clinical researchers.
