Affiliate Professor of Mathematics at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Nader Masmoudi has been awarded The Kuwait Prize for 2019 in the field of Fundamental Sciences (Mathematics).
Presented by The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the prize recognizes Masmoudi for his pioneering role in the field of partial differential equations' analysis and applications in physics and mechanics.
Through winning the prize, Masmoudi hopes to apply some of the new ideas developed in the area of hydrodynamic stability to better understand crowd dynamics and traffic flow.
The Kuwait Prize was set up in 1979 by The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) with the aim of supporting scientific research and Arab researchers and scientists.
