NYU Abu Dhabi is honored to take part in the UAE's Golden Jubilee by celebrating country's journey under the theme of “Legacies of the Past, Foundation of the Future”
While honoring current social distancing and safety guidelines we are organizing a week of activities from Sunday, November 21.
We look forward to sharing and celebrating this joyful occasion!

How did the nostalgic old days’ look, sound, and taste? In the UAE, the afternoon is a valuable time for the community, filled with comforting rituals and daily habits, be it enjoying an afternoon snack or playing in their neighborhood. Or simply listening to the Radio channel and secretly dedicating love or heartbreak songs to our dear ones.
Find a cheeky display between the walls of Baraha that captures the little things we do in our afternoons. We would love to hear about your side of the story too, so find the walls and share!
Location: Al Falah City, Abu Dhabi
The best way to learn about any culture is through experiencing the local cuisines and having a heartfelt conversation with the locals.
Zuwara in Arabic means "visit." This program aims to bridge NYU Abu Dhabi's community with the Abu Dhabi community with students visiting their homes and enjoying a shared meal.
In this Zuwara, participants will have the opportunity to browse Um Yousef's private collection, which she inherited from her elders or collected throughout the past 20 years with her husband. They both share the love of archiving and sharing stories from a time long gone but dearly remembered.

We all have something we hold dear to us, be it a precious token or a fond memory that we inherited from our dearest elders or picked up from our culture. This is a time to share the diverse Emirati narratives by telling the untold precious stories and showing a glimpse of the history, traditions, and values.
Guests are welcome to engage in this storytelling.
