Qasim Raza Khan is an Instructor of Civil and Urban Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). He earned his PhD from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Al Ain. Prior to joining NYUAD, he served as a Research Associate and Teaching Assistant at UAEU, where he gained extensive laboratory, teaching, and research experience. He also has professional field experience, having worked on a project with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi.
Khan’s research and teaching interests focus on contaminant transport in groundwater aquifers, with his doctoral research examining their movement in fractured rock aquifers. His research publications address key environmental challenges related to contaminant migration, aquifer storage and recovery, and flood modeling. His work also integrates machine learning and deep learning techniques to investigate complex natural processes.
