Elena Negoiu is an Assistant Instructor in Computer Engineering. She graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from New York University Abu Dhabi in 2021, with a thesis focused on developing an assistive surgical robotic system for laparoscopic surgery. With over a decade of experience teaching and leading educational programs for children at risk, youth in STEM, and young learners with learning impairments or intellectual disabilities, Negoiu is committed to continuing her contributions to more inclusive and equitable education, for all needs and abilities.
Negoiu has been leveraging her background in electrical and computer engineering to support neuroscience research studying the relationship between mood disorders and sleep, and has been actively involved in hardware design for rodent brain implants, brain imaging, and writing software for data collection, processing, and analysis.
