Jiahao Yu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Northwestern University and his bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

His research addresses the security and trustworthiness of artificial intelligence systems, spanning adversarial machine learning, large language model (LLM) red-teaming, and AI-driven software security and evaluation. . His work includes GPTFuzzer, an automated framework for red-teaming LLMs that has been integrated into Microsoft's PyRIT toolkit, together with research on prompt-injection fuzzing, retrieval-augmented generation poisoning, and automated vulnerability discovery and repair. His research appears at leading venues including USENIX Security, ICSE, ICML, and NeurIPS.

At NYU Abu Dhabi, Yu is the Principal Investigator of the Secure Reasoning Lab (SRL). He has contributed to DARPA's AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC) as a member of Team 42-b3yond-6ug.
