NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Manager, Student Experience, to join the new Stern at NYUAD team. NYU Stern School of Business and NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) have partnered to offer the Stern at NYUAD One-year Full-time MBA program. The launch of the program signifies a new era of advanced business education that will support the growth of knowledge-based economies in the region. It is a transformative educational opportunity for students from around the world that are looking to establish or further their careers in the MENA region.

The Manager will be a part of the larger Programs and Student Experience team. The Manager will assist the Associate Director of Student Experience and Advising in all aspects of student engagement and operations of the Stern at NYUAD one-year MBA program. Assist in the development of MBA student-focused programs that build community within each MBA cohort and provide students opportunities to engage the broader NYUAD and UAE community. Collaborate with other departments at Stern at NYUAD to develop and deliver shared programming that enhances student experience. Ensure smooth execution of all program operations, including securing classroom needs (space, technology, catering).

The Manager will work closely with colleagues in NYUAD Housing, Immigration, the Student Health Center, Campus Safety, Admissions, and others to coordinate access to housing, health insurance, visa support, and others. Provide administrative and logistical support to extra-curricular and class events on-site at NYUAD location. Support the development and delivery of new student orientation and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery

  • Assist the Associate Director in the delivery of all class modules
  • Provide administrative and operational support on all things related to program delivery, including class logistics and technology, student living (housing, health insurance, banking, visa and immigration arrangements), new studentorientation, and various events throughout the year (i.e. kick off dinner, networking forums, cocktail receptions, info sessions, and guest speaker lectures)
  • Serve as a member of the Commencement planning team
  • Attend events to ensure high quality implementation
  • Respond to and resolve student issues in consultation with the Associate Director. Support planning for the Doing Business In (DBi) program in New York. Serve on Stern at NYUAD committees including student conductcommittee

Support for Student Organizations

  • Provide administrative support to MBA student groups, student leadership and student events. Identify opportunitiesand provide guidance on the design of co-curricular and extracurricular activities and events
  • Ensure student events are in compliance with Stern at NYUAD and NYUAD guidelines and policies
  • Assist students in securing external speakers and requesting space, catering and other event planning. Inconsultation with the MBA students, create opportunities for families of students to engage with Stern at NYUAD andthe larger NYUAD community

Expense Tracking

  • Track contracts and expenses related to catering, student employees, books and materials, and other programneeds
  • Liaise with external vendors to resolve payment issues if they arise

Student Workers

  • Supervise student workers, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance

Feedback Processes

  • Implement the feedback process for the MBA program and prepare reports on student enrollment statistics and otherdata for both internal and external stakeholders

Events

  • Promote MBA events and services
  • Establish new approaches to implement changes and initiate new programs, as well as provide relationship development across activities and events

Required Education: 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Required Experience: 

  • 2+ years in academic program management experience in higher education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, tenured faculty, alumni and senior administrators. Strong project management, detail orientation, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Officeprograms (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Education: 

  • Masters Degree in Higher Education Administrations or Business

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of program and event coordination, and curriculum development
  • Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in Stern at NYU and NYUAD systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards
