Vinicius Goncalves has a bachelor's degree in Control and Automation Engineering (2011) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering (2014) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. From 2016 to 2022, he was an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering at UFMG. He joined NYUAD as a postdoctoral researcher in November 2022. He works in control, robotics, optimization, and discrete event systems. Recently, his work has focused on the intersection of the first three areas, working with motion control and path planning for robots considering motion constraints using optimization-based frameworks.
Current Research
Control and path planning for multi-agent systems using Control Barrier Functions.
