Daqaq served as the technical chair of the ASME Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems conference that was held in Louisville, KY, USA.  The conference is considered the leading event for the dissemination of knowledge in the field of smart materials. This year the conference featured 200 presentations by leading experts in the field.

Mohammed F. Daqaq publishes a graduate textbook titled “Dynamics of Particles and Rigid Bodies: A self-learning Approach”. The book is published by Wiley and ASME press and fills the void in the academic literature by providing a uniquely stimulating, “flipped classroom” approach to teaching particle and rigid body dynamics which was developed, tested and refined by the author over the course of many years of instruction at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Mohammed F. Daqaq and his previous student Ben Caldwell receive the 2017 best paper award on energy harvesting from the Aerospace Division of the ASME for their paper published in Applied Physics Letters “Exploiting the Principle Parametric Resonance of an Electric Oscillator for Energy Harvesting”.
