Major Achievements

April 17, 2016

The Cameleers participated in the 2016 NYUAD Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World as part of three teams: Qusasat, Fahmt, and MyReflection. Qusasat won first place with mentors Prof. Nizar Habash, Salam Khalifa, and Anas Shahrour from CAMeL lab. Fahmt team, mentored by Dr. Hieu Hoang, won third place.

Professor Habash is co-organized the Workshop on Arabic Natural Language Processing and Shared Task (ACL, Beijing).

The QCRI-Columbia-NYUAD team won second place the NIST Open Machine Translation bake-off.

The Cameleers participated in the 2015 NYUAD Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World as part of two teams: DALILA and hackee.me. CAMeL Research Assistant Anas Shahrour was a mentor to the first place winner (hackee.me). Congrats Anas and hackee.me team!
