The Yenching Academy of Peking University offers an interdisciplinary China studies program designed for future global leaders
NYU Abu Dhabi Class of 2016 graduate, Julia Saubier, has been selected as a Yenching Scholar in the third cohort at the Yenching Academy of Peking University. Saubier plans to study economics and management as a Yenching Academy Scholar of Peking University this fall.
In Beijing, Saubier hopes to explore how China's film distribution network and dynamic technological market are creating the frameworks of possibility for the global film industry. She hopes to use her studies to inform her understanding of how China's rising demand for film and entertainment can spearhead a global commitment to industry-wide diversity and inclusion best practices.
Saubier said: "NYU Abu Dhabi has allowed me to situate my studies in a broad, interdisciplinary context, attuned to transcontinental connections, comparisons, and exchange. I am looking forward to continuing to strengthen my commitment to global frameworks of understanding as a Yenching Academy Scholar at Peking University in Beijing."
Saubier graduated from NYUAD in 2016 with a major in Social Research and Public Policy and concentrations in Film and New Media Production and Political Science. She is currently based in London and hopes to pursue further studies or a career in the film industry upon completion of the scholarship program in Beijing.
