NYU Abu Dhabi will host the next Times Higher Education (THE) MENA Universities Summit, 13-15 November 2023, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The University was announced as the host of the international gathering of leaders in higher education during the final day of the 2022 summit at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait City, Kuwait. The theme for next year will be innovation in times of change.
The MENA 2023 summit will focus on promoting innovation, agility and strong national and regional collaboration, with a drive towards incorporating sustainability and equity across all aspects of an institution's outlook and long-term strategy.
“After collaborating so fruitfully on hosting an excellent virtual summit with NYU Abu Dhabi during the pandemic, the Times Higher Education team is absolutely thrilled to be joining forces with the NYUAD team again – but this time in-person and on the stunning campus in Abu Dhabi. I have said before that the whole of the Arab world is enjoying a real renaissance in higher education, research and innovation, with the region’s universities surging up the global rankings, and it is clear that real leadership on this is coming from the United Arab Emirates. Indeed, the UAE is the fastest-rising nation in the world for research over the last five years, according to the data behind THE’s World University Rankings and that is thanks to investment, a real policy focus, and of course international collaborations. I very much look forward to an event that will bring together university leaders from across the whole region and beyond, and which will seek to harness the great momentum in the Arab world and help drive further rapid progress."
The summit will feature the announcement of THE Arab University Rankings 2023 at a gala dinner, followed by an in-depth masterclass from THE’s data team, providing analysis and insight into the key findings, trends and stories from rankings data.
