Iwo Hachulski was getting increasingly frustrated trying to search for ways to build his work resume. There was no dedicated resource hub for someone in his position and instead he was thrown into a chaotic process of researching for hours.
That was when the NYU Abu Dhabi Class of 2024 student came up with the idea of PL Start, a social initiative that brings enrichment opportunities for youth under one platform.
Currently focusing on opportunities available in his home country of Poland, Hachulski hopes to gain more domestic knowledge and experience before expanding the initiative into Europe and eventually, the rest of the world.
While Hachulski understands that not every youth will get a chance to study abroad, he hopes the initiative can enhance their resumes by providing opportunities and scholarships for short-term international exposure.
Hachulski values the idea of a global community. That belief in the power of understanding different cultures and interacting with people from around the world fuels the first-year’s excitement about joining NYUAD.
Although the first semester only consists of virtual interactions with his peers and professors, Hachulski is already experiencing the warmth of a close-knit community. He looks forward to the time when he will physically be on campus adding, “We may be all over the world now but we will be on campus soon and form a proper non-Zoom community.”
