Marhaba Week is a weeklong orientation program that introduces our first year students to life at NYU Abu Dhabi. It's a jam-packed week of events that keeps students on the move, going from one location to another all day long.
It's the perfect opportunity for new students to scope out campus hangouts, and try new foods at the dining hall.
What's Your Favorite Campus Food?
1. Anything Grilled
The Grill at the Campus East restaurant is a hit with the first-years especially for its grilled chicken breast and grilled beef steak.
2. Pizzas
Pizza is a big yes with Seif Kassem from Egypt, while Noor Altunaiji from Abu Dhabi thinks “the vegetable pizza is really on point.”
3. Salads
The NYUAD salad bar is a must for students who love their veggies!
4. Fresh fruits
As fresh fruits are not readily available in many supermarkets in Kazakhstan, Aiya Akilzhanova really enjoys the variety available on campus.
Where's Your Favorite Campus Hangout?
1. Baraha
This open recreational space in the Campus Center is packed during break times. Baraha features a variety of gaming facilities such as air hockey, pool table, pinball machine, and more.
2. The High Line
The High Line connects all the buildings on campus above ground level, and boosts ample lawn and benches to allow open air lounging — it is also a hit for current students who enjoy being outdoors.
3. Residential Lounges
It’s a great space where new students get to interact with other flatmates in the evening, said Minsoo Kim from Korea.
4. The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi
The high ceilings and three beautiful performing spaces within the Arts Center have tugged at the heart strings of some first-years. The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi welcomes and hosts plenty of international performances annually.
