Tolerance Statement

NYU Abu Dhabi holds the values of fairness, equal access, collaboration, and engagement as fundamental pillars since its inception, enshrined in our mission and vision. Our institution endeavors to establish a robust and diverse community dedicated to utilizing research and education to tackle humanity's shared challenges, particularly institutional and systemic racism.

As a diverse  university community, we strive to collaborate and promote collective knowledge on inequalities that stem from discrimination and other societal ills. Furthermore, we aim to cultivate an ever-inclusive and equitable culture that is accessible to all.

It is incumbent upon all members of the NYUAD community to foster a dignified and respectful work and learning environment that upholds courtesy, consideration, and zero tolerance towards all forms of discrimination. We remain guided by Article 25 of the United Arab Emirates constitution, which guarantees equal treatment under the law to all persons without discrimination based on race, nationality, religious belief, or social status.

NYU Abu Dhabi is a global institution with strong American roots that is deeply embedded within Abu Dhabi, the UAE, and the world. We encourage you to explore The Office of Global Access and Engagement website for more information on our continued efforts towards promoting inclusivity and equity.
