NYUAD’s emphasis on breadth prepared me to be both an engineer as well as a leader. I have been able to fuse my passion for space with that for tangible development on the ground.

I work with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), which is a global network of young, professional space enthusiasts and is in support of the United Nations program on peaceful uses of outer space. I am the national point of contact for Malawi, and therefore represent the country at various space symposia. I work on space awareness across the country, and in the long term seek to help set up a space sector there.

We organize and participate in events that promote space applications, offer input on how space can best be used, and provide a platform for conversation among future generation decision makers with regards to space.

[I enjoy] meeting people from around the world and Africa who are also seriously exploring ways in which space technology can be utilized toward development, and other peaceful ways. I have been looking for ways to fuse my passion for space with that for tangible development on the ground and through this role I have discovered many avenues for just that.
