Jeff Steiner is a Clinical Associate Professor of Management and Organizations at the NYU Stern School of Business at NYU Abu Dhabi. His consulting, coaching, teaching, and research interests lie at the intersection of work and well-being. Jeff has studied, worked, volunteered, and lived internationally, galvanizing his interest in studying issues of work and well-being across vastly different cultural contexts. He is motivated by the belief that improving the modern Employee Experience (“EX”) is imperative to foster greater well-being across societies.
Jeff teaches management and leadership courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and executive levels. At Stern at NYUAD, Jeff teaches Leadership in Organizations, Professional Responsibility, and Managing Change, and co-teaches its flagship Signature Internship Program. He has previously taught Management & Organizations and Managerial Skills at NYU Stern in New York, as well as Work & Well-Being at the Harvard Extension School.
Jeff’s research spans individual, managerial, and organizational levels of analysis. At the individual level, his work focuses on how people think about what it means to live a good life, and how they come to view the role of their work and career in pursuing it. In addition, he studies managerial and organizational practices aimed at safeguarding and supporting employee well-being, such as initiatives concerning employee mental health.
Jeff was previously an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NYU Stern School of Business in New York, an Executive Coach for Harvard Business School Executive Education, and a Lecturer at the Harvard Extension School. Prior to pursuing his academic career, Jeff was the COO of Global Talent Development at Morgan Stanley, as well as a Research Associate to Professor Teresa Amabile at Harvard Business School.
Jeff received his PhD in Organizational Behavior from Harvard Business School.
