Societal Psychology Lab

The Societal Psychology Lab connects NYU Abu Dhabi and London School of Economics' Department of Psychological & Behavioural Science, as a community of researchers bringing a multilevel lens to the psychology of intergroup inequality. Our work examines how societal conditions shape psychological experience on the one hand (e.g., the impact of poverty on decision-making), and how psychological processes shape wider societal outcomes on the other (e.g., the grounding of ideological differences in core biological concerns). We consider implications of our research for addressing pressing issues such as poverty, economic inequality, prejudice, political polarization, and global solidarity.
