The Italian pianist Aldo Dotto received his Masters' Degrees at the Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland) and the Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca (Italy) and completed two years of post-graduate courses at the Fiesole Academy and International Academy of Coimbra (Portugal) under the guidance of well-known pedagogues such as Aquiles Delle Vigne, Andrea Lucchesini, Anna Gòrecka, Andrzej Jasinski.

He received top prizes in international piano competitions in Europe including the Roma International Piano Competition, Maria Giubilei International Piano Competition,  the Region de Murcia International Piano Competition for Piano and Orchestra, and others. Since a young age, he started a consistent performing career for important venues such as the San Carlo Theater in Lisbon, Salzburg Mozarteum, Sinfonia Varsovia in Warsaw, Biblioteca Casanatense in Roma, Palazzo Vecchio in Firenze, Chopin Hall in Seville, Cultural Palace in Riyadh and he performed piano concertos by Mozart and Chopin with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina and Orchestra of the Cherubini Conservatory. His chamber music collaboration includes musicians from La Scala Orchestra, Santa Cecilia Orchestra, the soprano Katia Ricciarelli, and the percussionist Jonathan Haas.

An active researcher, he wrote a book about the life and works of Karol Szymanowski which was published by ETS edition and praised by the critics (including Paolo Isotta, who quoted Aldo’s book within one of his late works) and it was followed by other publications about Szymanwski for important magazines of musicology. For the Carter Larsen Foundation, Aldo recorded a Cd and a DVD with music of the Texan composer Carter Larsen, published by Sony label.

Aldo currently lives in Abu Dhabi where he is also Academic Director of the International Music Institute, the oldest music school in the Capital, organizing the Youth Orchestra and Choir of Abu Dhabi in Collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism.
