Global Research Programs

The Office of Global Research Programs strengthens NYU Abu Dhabi’s role as a global hub for research, innovation, and international collaboration. The office cultivates strategic partnerships with universities, governments, industry, and foundations around the world, creating opportunities for shared discovery, cross-border research, and impactful global engagement.

Working across NYU’s global network, the Office supports faculty in developing collaborative projects, securing external funding, and building international research consortia. It facilitates access to global research ecosystems, coordinates joint workshops and exchanges, and advances initiatives that connect NYU Abu Dhabi’s strengths with partners who share a commitment to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.

Through these efforts, the Office of Global Research Programs expands NYUAD’s global reach, enhances the visibility of the University's research enterprise, and contributes to shaping knowledge, policy, and innovation on an international scale.

Yvette Lane-Newton

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Global Research Programs

Yvette Lane-Newton is a higher education leader with over 20 years of experience spanning graduate and postdoctoral affairs, research operations, academic administration, enrollment management, and career and professional development. As Assistant Vice Chancellor for Global Research at NYU Abu Dhabi, Yvette advances the university’s global research strategy through strategic partnerships and initiatives that promote international collaboration and broaden access to external research funding.

Previously, Yvette served as Assistant Vice Provost of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs at NYU Abu Dhabi and as Director of Visiting Scholar and Postdoctoral Affairs at the University of California, Berkeley, where she led campus-wide efforts to enhance research support systems and strengthen the professional development, visibility, and well-being of early career researchers. Her work reflects a sustained commitment to advancing excellence and innovation across the global research and higher education landscape.
