Academic Appointments

The Office of Academic Appointments supports the academic strategy by supporting the Provost and Deans with respect to academic recruitment,  appointments, reappointments, tenure, promotion, cross-school appointments, and leaves. The Office provides administrative oversight for faculty, research and academic staff evaluations and review, as well as promotion processes.  

Naomi Munro is the Director for Academic Appointments. Naomi has worked in Human Resources spanning several industries such as Government, Enterprise, Consulting and Academic Institutions such as the University of Wollongong in Australia and Dubai prior to joining NYU Abu Dhabi in 2016. Naomi’s expertise lies in HR Strategies, People Management and Planning, Talent Acquisition, and Developing Policies and Processes. 

At NYU Abu Dhabi, Naomi is responsible for leading the academic appointment operations across the academic divisions and units, and directing and managing Faculty Recruitment, Tenure, Promotion, and Performance Management via oversight of her team of Academic Appointments Partners to ensure a client-centered approach.
