Hazel Raja serves as the Assistant Dean of Students and the founding director of the Career Development Center. She is responsible for managing the administration of the Career Development Center, as well as providing oversight of the Department of Residential Education (interim). Hazel has a MA in Counseling and Guidance from New York University.
Hazel has worked in university student affairs since 2001 and has served at NYU New York and the University of Southampton (UK). Alongside her career counseling responsibilities, she worked in residential life, managed university-wide career events/fairs, and delivered diversity career programs at NYU. At the University of Southampton, she worked closely with faculty to embed employability skills within the curriculum, and facilitated programs targeted to support the university’s growing number of international students. The combination of her experiences and expertise brought her to the University’s first portal campus in March 2010.
