The Career Development Center (CDC) empowers students to take the first steps and next steps along meaningful career paths. The CDC seek to understand each student's goals and needs in order to help them achieve their own success. From self-discovery of skills and interests, all the way to acclimation to the world of work, guidance is provided each step of the way.
Dana Downey is the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Career Development Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, where she helps her team use data to decide what matters most, drive change, anticipate challenges, and shift the paradigm of career development. She has presented at local, regional, and international conferences about contextualized career advising, data-driven decision making, regionally relevant recruitment, and the advantage of global mobility. Dana has an MA in Counseling from the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on non-Western models of counseling. She has worked in career development for more than 10 years, previously at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Florida in the United States.
