Internships

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Be actively enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at a UAE-based university and able to attend the internship in person at NYUAD. 
• Recent graduates (within three years of graduating) and Master's candidates may also be considered. Please note that NYUAD will not sponsor candidate visas under any circumstances.
• Be in good academic and disciplinary standing at their home institution.
• Golden visa holders and candidates with valid residence visas are also eligible.

High school students: At present, minors and/or high school students are not eligible to apply for on-campus internships through the External Internship program. We aim to provide suitable opportunities to this category in the near future.

NYUAD graduates: This program caters exclusively to external students only. NYUAD students and graduates have a designated pool of resources and opportunities available to them. For more information, please contact the Career Development Center.

• In-person program: Candidates are expected to be present in person on campus for the duration of the internship.
• Academic credit: Interns should reach out to their respective internship supervisor to discuss their home institution’s for-credit internship requirements.
• Accommodation and transportation: Candidates from different Emirates will be responsible for their own accommodation and transport arrangements. They are not covered by the University through this internship program.
• Full-time and part-time: The program offers both part-time and full-time internships. The time commitment will depend on the specific internship role you are applying for. Please confirm the requirements directly with your assigned internship supervisor.
  Full-time positions: 35 hours a week
  Part-time positions: min 10 hours a week

After the application deadline, hiring managers shortlist suitable candidates, who then undergo a security screening and compliance clearance process before they can be onboarded. The HR department will reach out to the selected candidates during the screening process to submit the required documentation.

The end-to-end process for onboarding interns can take up to six weeks.
