Tomas Venit is a molecular geneticist interested in the transcriptional regulation of cellular differentiation focusing on actin-binding proteins and their role in the cell nucleus.

Research

Tomas Venit is working on the following projects:

  • Transcriptional regulation of mitochondrial gene expression by Nuclear myosin 1 and its role in cellular reprogramming and neuronal differentiation
  • Identifying roles of nuclear Carmil protein during mRNA biogenesis and transport from the cell nucleus to the cytoplasm
  • Developing nanobody-based treatment against Covid-19 by manipulating the function of Covid-19 NSP9 protein
