Lydia Gkoura
Postdoctoral Associate
Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: BSc Physics (University of Athens,Greece); MSc Telecommunications Engineering and Electronics (University of Athens,Greece); PhD Chemical Engineering (National and Technical University of Athens/National Centre for Scientific Research NCSR "Demokritos",Greece)
Research Areas: Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy
Lydia Gkoura received her BSc degree in Physics (2012) and in her MSc in Telecommunications Engineering and Electronics (2014) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece.
She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2019 from National and Technical University of Athens in Greece, where she carried out research in the Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Group in the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the National Centre for Scientific Research NCSR "Demokritos." During her Doctoral research she participated in several international projects and her research interests include the development and application of advanced NMR methodologies in the study of multiphase flow processes in 1-D and 2-D porous systems conducting 1H NMR relaxation and diffusion studies of nanofluidity in porous systems with emphasis in carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as well as silica-based materials.
Lydia Gkoura is a postdoctoral associate at New York University Abu Dhabi and her current research at NYUAD is focused on developing methods for high-pressure NMR crystallography with the aim to characterize polymorphism in complex crystalline materials when subjected to high-pressure conditions.
