Dario Romero is a postdoctoral fellow in Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. His research interests include economic history, political economy, and applied microeconomics in developing economies, particularly Latin America. His current work analyzes economic growth and innovation during the second half of 19 century and how colonial markets favored small innovation processes in technological peripherical countries.
Before his current appointment, Dario worked at Universidad del Rosario in Colombia, J-PAL LAC in Chile, and the InterAmerican Development Bank in Wahhing to DC. He holds a BA in Economics (2010), BA in Political Science (2011), and a MA in Economics (2012) from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia). He obtained his PhD in Economics from Columbia University.
