Sandra Aristizabal Postdoctoral Associate at the Water Research Center (WRC), with over a decade of experience in chemistry and a focused seven-year track in membrane technology.

She holds a PhD and an MSc in Environmental Science and Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), specializing in the development of polymeric membranes for nanofiltration applications. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with a focus on organic synthesis for high-molecular-weight polymer preparation.

Her work is driven by a commitment to sustainable development through innovative, interdisciplinary research conducted at leading institutions in Colombia (Univalle), Mexico (UNAM), Japan (OIST), the USA (BYU), and Saudi Arabia (KAUST), contributing to high-impact publications and international collaborations.

Her interests include environmental health and safety, water treatment, quality control, life cycle assessment, environmental remediation and compliance, polymer engineering, multi-step organic synthesis, and chemical waste and laboratory management.
