Raed Al-Juboori holds PhD and Master's qualifications in Environmental Chemical Engineering awarded from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) in Australia. He obtained his Bachelor's qualification in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad. Raed has been working in academia and research for the past seven years. He worked in Two Australian Universities, USQ and Federation University, for four years (2015-2019). Then moved to Finland to work in the water and wastewater research group at Aalto university in Finland before joining NYUAD in Sep 2022.

Raed taught theoretical and practical sessions for several courses such as Physical and Chemical Water Treatment Process, Engineering Problem Solving, Hydraulics, and Environmental Engineering Practice. He is the author of more than 40 research papers and two book chapters. The research areas he is interested in are membrane technologies, adsorption, advanced oxidation process, and resource recovery.

Raed has successfully supervised ten doctoral and master students to completion. Raed won two industrial project funds, one awarded from the innovation connection funding scheme offered by the Queensland government and the second one awarded by Business Finland.
