Haya Nassrullah

Research Associate Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: BSc. American University of Sharjah; MSc. Khalifa University

Research Areas: Nanofiltration; Desalination; Nanomaterials; Membrane distillation; Membrane fabrication

Haya Nassrullah joined the NYUAD Water Research Center (WRC) as a graduate research assistant in September 2020. She is currently working on the development of electrically conductive membranes for enhanced water treatment. She received her MSc in chemical engineering from Khalifa University and BSc in chemical engineering and chemistry from the American University of Sharjah. During her Master's studies, Nassrullah gained experience in fabricating and characterizing composite electrospun membranes that can be used for oily wastewater treatment via membrane distillation. Following her graduation, Nassrullah joined NYUAD WRC as a research engineer, during which she worked on producing crystalline zeolite nanoparticles using ball milling.

Research

Haya is currently working on the development and testing of electrically conductive nanofiltration membranes for desalination. Her objectives include controlling ion selectivity and enhancing fouling mitigation.
