Farah Ahmed is a Postdoctoral Associate at the NYUAD Water Research Center. Her research interests focus on materials and processes for desalination and water treatment, including nanostructured and electrically conductive membrane materials. Her interests include improving the performance of membrane distillation using smart self-heating membrane systems for seawater desalination. She has also been involved with electrolytic self-cleaning of membranes for reverse osmosis, microfiltration, and ultrafiltration.
