Supramolecular Multifunctional Systems (SMS)
The Trabolsi Research Group designs and develops smart materials to tackle two of today’s biggest challenges: better healthcare and clean water for all. The group brings together chemistry, nanoscience, and materials engineering to turn scientific discovery into real-world solutions.
From drug delivery systems that could transform healthcare, to pollutant-capturing sponges and atmospheric water harvesters that provide sustainable access to fresh water, our work shows how chemistry can directly improve lives. The group also explores the fascinating world of molecular knots and links, creating nanoscale structures that inspire future smart technologies.
Through global collaborations, patents, and partnerships, the Trabolsi Group is positioning NYUAD as a hub for chemical innovation with lasting impact on society and the environment. The group is also part of the NYUAD Water Research Center.
