Our manuscript entitled "Metal-Organic Self-Assembled Trefoil Knots for C-Br Bond Activation" has been accepted for publication by ACS Catalysis. Congratulations to Research Scientist Thirumurugan Prakasam and Associate Professor Ali Trabolsi as well as contributors from collaborating institutions.

Associate Professor of Chemistry, Ali Trabolsi gave an invited talk at SICC10 in Singapore entitled “Metal-Organic Knots: Synthesis and Application”.

Research Scientist Thirumurugan Prakasam also attended SICC10 in Singapore and gave an oral presentation entitled “Metal-Organic Trefoil Knots for Carbon-Halogen Bond Activation”.

There were more than 500 people who attended the four (4) day conference.

Members of the Trabolsi Group gave poster presentations at the Second Middle Eastern Materials Science Conference (MEMSC) held at New York University Abu Dhabi, November 12-14, 2018.

Global PhD Student, Christina Saad Zalch presented a poster entitled "Design and Synthesis of Diketopyrrolopyrrole- Based Dye-Rotaxanes".

Research Associate, Gobinda Das, presented a poster entitled 'Covalent Organic Nanosheets for Bioimaging".

Nowshin Kabir, Undergraduate Research Assistant, presented a poster entitled "Pyrene Functionalisation of Metal-Organic Nontrivial Structures". 

Global PhD Student, Tina Slorjanc, presented a poster entitled "Porphyrin-based covalent organic networks formed through the Zincke reaction".

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Sandra Boutros, presented a poster entitled "Thia-crown-calix[4]arene-Based Porous Organic Polymer for Mercury Adsorption from Water"

Associate Professor of Chemistry, Ali Trabolsi gave an oral presentation on “Synthesis and Applications of Metal-Organic Knots" at ArmChemFront 2018 in Yerevan, Armenia. Conference attendees included Sir Fraser Stoddart and Ben Feringa, two of 2016's Nobel Laureate.

Research Scientist Dinesh Shetty received a full fellowship from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences to participate and present an oral talk at the Arab-American Frontier Symposium to be held in Kuwait City Nov. 4-6, 2018.

Professor Ali Trabolsi has been invited to speak at the 10th Singapore International Chemistry Conference 2018 to be held from  December 16-19, 2018 in Singapore. Professor Trabolsi's paper is entitled 'Metal-Organic Knots: Synthesis and Application".

Research Scientist Thirumurugan Prakasam will also attend the 10th Singapore International Chemistry Conference 2018 and will present his paper entitled "Metal-Organic Trefoil Knots for Carbon-Halogen Bond Activation."

Graduate Student Tina Skorjanc also gave a talk at Macro 2018 in Cairns, Australia. The title of her presentation was “Porphyrin-Based Covalent Organic Networks Formed through the Zincke Reaction.

Congratulations to our Graduate student Tina Skorjanc, Dr. Dinesh Shetty and Prof. Ali Trabolsi, as well as all other collaborators from NYUAD and abroad.

Tina Skorjanc's abstract entitled "Porphyrin-Based Covalent Organic Networks Formed through the Zincke Reaction” was accepted for oral presentation. Tina will travel to Cairns, Australia in July to present at Macro 18.
