Why did you choose NYU Tulsa for your study away semester?
Tulsa offered a completely different experience, providing the chance to explore a city that is rapidly developing its economy and tech sector, making significant progress toward technological advancement in a U.S. setting. I was also attracted to the opportunity to take classes at the University of Tulsa, which allowed me to experience a different academic environment while still taking interesting courses at NYU Tulsa alongside my NYU peers. This combination gave me both academic variety and professional growth, making it a unique and valuable study-away experience.
Studying in NYU Tulsa taught me to explore, reflect, and appreciate both the history and the progress of the communities around me. Every experience, big or small, became a lasting memory and a lesson.

How did your semester abroad experience shape your academic and personal goals?
As a computer science student, I had initially planned to pursue a master’s degree in computer science or a career in software engineering. However, after taking a class called Database Systems at the University of Tulsa, I was exposed to broader applications of data and technology, which led me to discover alternative career paths beyond traditional computer science roles. In particular, I became interested in business analytics, a field that combines technology and business. This has since influenced me to explore the business field further, and I am currently taking a Business Management and Organization course to explore this field further.
What was the most meaningful or memorable part of your study abroad experience, and why?
The most meaningful part of my study abroad experience was creating a scrapbook at the end of the semester. Collecting pictures, souvenirs, and mementos from the places I visited in Tulsa and reflecting on the experience helped me truly appreciate the city, its culture, and everything I learned. I still keep the scrapbook on my desk in Abu Dhabi and often look through it, which keeps the memories and lessons from Tulsa alive.
