Seven NYU Abu Dhabi postdoctoral associates were selected for a 3-week research residency program in the New York campus after completing a competitive application process. Through the NYUAD Postdoc Collaborative Grant Program, these postdocs will represent research areas in Engineering, Bioengineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Urban Networks, and Social Research and Public Policy, with the aim to create new or enhance existing cross collaborations activities between both campuses.
“This is an excellent new program that helps to create greater mobility and collaboration across the NYU network,” said Carol Genetti, Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs. “It is also an invaluable opportunity for postdocs, not only to advance their research, but also to develop a wide range of professional skills and extend their networks.”
For Pauline John who is currently working at the Laboratory for Advanced Biophotonics and Imaging at NYUAD, she will be carrying out her collaborative residency research work at NYU Langone Health in New York in the field of biomedical optics and biophotonics.
The grant program also ensures a generous financial grant to assist with cost of residency during their stay as well as access to university-provided accommodation near Washington Square in New York. These scholars will also get to enjoy the New York summer as the program plans out a couple of social activities to balance out the intensive residency program as well as networking opportunities to discuss potential faculty or researcher careers at NYU New York.
